Cosby just had to claim some ‘girl had overdosed and God, how embarrassing. Can we deal with this before my wife finds out?’ - and there would have been some fixer to clear it up for him. I mean, it was just an accident, no reason to drag mr cosby’s name through the mud, right?

Honestly, I have had that same thought. If nothing else...he has given DOZENS* of women drugs that were potent enough to knock them out and probably acquired illegally from somewhere. Yet not one of them had an allergic reaction or just a bad reaction? Whatever he is found guilty of, and hopefully he will be, I think

You know, I could not swear to you that I have seen Dirty Dancing? I think I have, but it IS possible that I just sort of absorbed the plot through years of ‘best of’ TV shows and memes.

Alyssa Moore was working the soundboard at the bar last night. She’s a weird absence in this story, since she wasn’t only the target but, from her Kickstarter, she actively helped protect from her abusive, on fire ex. She held the door for people running away from him, and tried to get it locked before he could force

...this probably isn’t the takeaway intended, but in that last still? Either one guy had really MASSIVE ears or someone had a tiny foot.

I’m not an American, but I got to admit if it was another election with Trump running (my hope is he dies before that, just of natural causes), I’d be torn. Yes, you’d rather have a plain old politician with experience and political education... but with the risk of another four years of Trump, you’d have to consider

It used to be common to sentence prisoners to hard labour, sometimes it wasn’t even labour it was just pointless, Sisyphean tasks designed to punish. And yet crime continued. Punishment isn’t a great deterrent to crime, except for people who already basically law-abiding.

Except what happens when the criminals get out? After they have been dehumanised and tortured, will they really be able to just fit back into society? It seems unlikely.

Presumably they could tell that he wasn’t breathing at the time of the fire, so no smoke/soot in his airway or lungs. Poor kid.

I am so lazily irreligious that happens to me every year! It’s like Ash Wednesday sneaks up on me, and then I’m befuddled by all the smudgy faces.

The dog was SO happy. It had always hated the boyfriend. :D

It made for an entertaining evening!

My neighbour’s daughter’s boyfriend tried this after a fight (he kicked her dog when it bit his jeans because he jumped over the back fence). The only problem was that it wasn’t her window, it was her parents. Then the dog woke up and came barrelling out.

YES! When she first started to ask, I thought she wanted to swap over a small child. To which I would have had to say ‘sure’, but she wanted to sit with her husband while rando stranger sat with the kids.

There was nowhere else to sit (flight was packed) so I just quietly gagged my way to Heathrow. I have no idea why she thought it was appropriate.

Except she is, or seems to be trying to. The question is whether the impact caused by her condemning Chick-fil-a (whose practices are already fairly well known) would have accomplished more good than her donating that money to help organisations continue to fight.

I can’t eat there because of allergies. I do kinda think the murmur of agreement that would arise from a Grace Slick ‘screw you’ to Chick-Fil-A , is maybe less useful than concrete donations of cash to help causes fight. At least in this case.

I asked how much. And we are interested in the topic already, which is why we frequent this site. How much impact would ‘Grace Slick refuses to let fast food place use her song’ have on the general public? Hell, there are plenty of people here who still eat their food.

I don’t know. Chick-fil-a is already pretty normalised, and it would have been easy enough for them to find another song. Even she talked about why she didn’t allow them to use her song, how much cultural impact does Grace Slick actually have these days? This way at least the money does some good?

Someone once ripped STRIPS off me in a car park for parking in a disabled parking space while I ran inside to pick up a parcel. They ended up calling the security guard, after nearly ten minutes and me nearly in tears,...then it turned out that the space wasn’t a disabled parking space. It was just at a corner with a
