I wouldn’t use the argument as a reason to ban anything, rather it is a counterpoint to a common argument made against gun regulation. A lot of people who oppose gun regulation invoke the ‘responsible gun owner’ as they put their point forward.

Because liars tell good stories. People who’ve actually suffered trauma are stuck just telling the truth, and that isn’t always as sensational or virally packaged. So stories like this get a disproportionate amount of attention.

I thought he’d ended up doxing the wrong person? It was someone unconnected to the story whose name he’d given out — was it actually her?

They did take her to the hospostal, so hopefully this was the first and the baby will recover. Still, it is breathtakingly selfish to know your child is sick because of what you did, and to deliberately block them getting treatment.

I think this situation is worse, because having made a selfish (if you want to use heavy duty narcotics, deal with the social battery and bottle fed) but understandle mistake, she refused to let the hospital treat her child. She would have rather let the baby suffer, and possibly die, rather than get in trouble for

*tangential aside* I used to work for someone who was a roadie for Hawkwind when he was a young man. I mean, I told everyone that he was a ‘groupie’, but that was just some weird freudian thing (I did think people were weirdly sceptical at the time).

Yeah. I’m pretty sure no one could fit under my bed, but I’ll still take a running dive at tonight!

Never actually clean shaven Chris, Shy Chris, meh Chris, Aussie Chris. Each Chris is a distinct and unique individual, much like Ken dolls.

It is sketchy as fuck all around - seriously, the entire police force needs a systemic clean out at this point - but for the purposes of reporting the story...the claim so far is only one man is accused of statutory rape.

The picture where it looks like she is about to tell him she’s dropped the car keys in the sand? Possibly the most perfect thing I have ever seen. I cannot say why, but it gives me genuine joy.

I assume (with the usual ass/you/me caveat) that it is because she is only accusing one police officer of statutory rape - the dead guy. The other officers had sex with a barely legal teenager which is inappropriate and abusive of their power but not illegal. So for legal reasons you would have to divide them

I think the fact they showed no empathy at all for anyone outside their family circle is what pushed me into the ‘assholes who raised a rapist’ camp. It was all ‘WE’VE suffered’ and ‘why does no think about the real victims, US!’. Very nasty.

I find that I am completely ok with demonising this particular parent for trying to get his rapist spawn off with a slap on the wrist.

Stuffed potatoes (ham/bacon/leftovers) with cheese. Prepare beforehand and just heat in the microwave, tasty and easy to eat without dripping down yourself.

I can’t blame you! At least you got the bed in the end.

I wonder if it’s like people who work in food service, some of them just get to the ‘fuck you and your meal/package’ stage. Like eventually, that guy delivered someone’s new Game of Thrones gently shredded, arranged into an origami rose, and chucked over their fence.

Once I kept arguing with Amazon about a delivery. They insisted it was here. I pointed out it wasn’t. Turned out they were right...the delivery driver had climbed over my gate, hidden the box behind my bins, and then climbed back out. No note.

Me too! I accept that singing to people in public is a fairly cruel thing to do to them, but my shower and my car are free sing zones. No one can stop me singing along to Metallica at stoplights.

If someone was going to carry out this sort of plot, though, wouldn’t they have made sure there WERE signs of abuse by the time the police got there? Amber could have just smacked her face into a door or something, make sure they saw the cuts and bruises.

At least it was in your yard? A few years ago one of my neighbours kid took a poop in my drive. Honestly, I think they were more horrified than I was, and I was pretty horrified!
