It’s not a matter of people these commenters don’t like, but the platform/site this story is being shared on. Taylor is a known supporter of Transphobes and Blue Lives Matter. It is surprising that Kotaku of all places would ignore this, not that it has any impact on the facts of the matter.

I don’t know about what is considered a fair price for VA, but there is noting wrong with a company recasting if the pay negotiation breaks down. Otherwise, they would be chained to a single person and be forced to pay any amount.

And... I already have it fully paid for... I play the games for the story and gameplay.. I don’t care when a voice actor gets replaced!! Heck, look at Destiny.. the voice actor for Ghost got replaced, and I believe a few other characters had their actors changed!! I think she is just being petty!!

Great questions that would have actually made this article much more informative. According to other comments here, Taylor gave interviews in 2018 stating recording audio for Bayonetta took about 16 hours, spread over four days.

No, it’s fairly obvious. 4k is not a serious offer. And there’s no way Hale is earning 4k as she’s top bill AND union.

Oh please. This woman is being disingenuous at best. $4000 wasn’t a serious offer, she was fired but likely had the right to first refusal. Platinum didn’t want to work with her and it wasn’t about the money.

I don’t want to immediately discount her because it’s a fact that voice actors don’t get payed what they deserve. and we all know Kamiya is kind of an asshole, but........if they didn’t want to pay her more money why would they then go for one of most prolific voice actresses of all time who is gonna cost a shit ton…

Well I was excited. I will definitely not be buying this game now. What a despicable thing to do to a person. Also, Hideki, while within his rights to block whoever he wants - is acting like a massive manchild. 

A quality single player game in a niche (but excellent) genre that isn’t focued on MTX doesn’t seem like the rallying point for boycotting we should endorse. Still, I wish her all the best and I’m sorry if she got a raw deal.
