I used to play it too, and only now do I realize that it won the 1978 Queen’s Award for Export Achievement. Maybe the American edition omitted this fact from the packaging.

I did a side-by-side comparison of Tarte Gifted and Velvet Noir with totally clean skin (just serum, no oils or moisturizer or foundation or powder) and holy crap they both smudged so much. :| Granted, I’ve got longish lashes and oily skin so I’m more smudge-prone than some, but URGH they were both heavy nopes for me.

I really like Sephora’s Lashcraft Length and Volume mascara! It’s $5 for a travel size and $12 for a full, so not too pricey. It doesn’t flake off on me and I typically wear it through a day of work, gym, etc. I also have straight lashes though, and I’ve always had to curl them, never had success with curling…
