Wayne Goss 4LYFE. I learned more from his channel than I did in years of general beauty internetting. I posted this upthread, but his videos on facial structure and how to apply makeup to suit your specific features are incredibly helpful and changed my makeup game for the better.

I think we might be the same person!

Wayne Goss (gossmakeupartist on YouTube) give some great advice and tutorials (and I mean real how-to teaching, not just a YouTuber applying makeup that looks good on her particular features and telling you the steps).

Kate Spade would be a good option, although the leather quality for some styles has gone down in recent years. If you’re going into a store to shop, I wouldn’t worry about it, though. You can tell on sight/by feel. Marc Jacobs has cute styles, but I hate the treatment that they put on their leather — it’s got an

Whaaaat. That’s an excellent tip, thanks so much!

Sold! Take my money, Tom Ford!

I love that — you’ve had such an interesting trajectory! For me, I did stage makeup as well (was an apprentice with a small ballet company). Later learned a lot on my own to improve my daily makeup, but that led to friends asking for advice, then help with their Halloween makeup (including some drag makeup—so much

Yes! My eyelids are like a BP disaster in the summer, and the Marc Jacobs liner still stays put with no primer. Great stuff.

Re: fragrances, try determining the types of fragrances you like based on what has worked for you reasonably well in the past (floral, gourmand, woody/oriental, etc.). Try sampling the hell out of fragrances that fit those buckets. You will probably still hate a lot of them, but keep going until you find one that

High-five to another amateur wedding MUA! I’ve done it as a favor for a bunch of friends and their wedding parties, and it’s just the best. How did you get started?

Marc Jacobs Blacquer eyeliner is the only marker that worked for me. It’s a strong felt tip (unlike the KVD brush tip), which is great for getting a precise wing, and the liquid itself is a super dark, glossy black. Comes in a deep brown-black, as well, if that’s more your speed.

My sister is a monster and talked me into getting the SK-II Facial Essence (WTF does that even mean? It’s a watery serum) and Clear Toner this year. It costs more than my life. But I’ve got to say, between that and using a NuFace*, the one thing that my 2016 has going for it is that my skin got way, way better than it

I love your doctor.

Researching! Sounds interesting, I’ll try to track it down. Thanks for the tip :)

Should worse come to worst, may I suggest this? Everytime I buy it at the liquor store, the owner stops to talk to me about how much he likes it, and although quinoa vodka sounds like pure hipster nonsense, it’s actually really lovely:

Yes, Team Buy That Shit Online. I bought my dress on the internets way back in 2009, after visiting two stores and hating it, and I have no regrets. If you don’t need someone to tell you what you’re going to look good/be comfortable in, you’re going to be fine.

Thank you! I’ve been using NuFace (after having my own “holy ****” moment post-microcurrent facial), which I really like, but it’s hard to multitask while using it & I don’t always get to it when I would like to. It will be great to try these out in combination. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Do you have any specific programs to recommend? I was researching this a couple of months ago, but I don’t really know where to start.

Hell yeah, Yule log. My husband set up those weird Philips Hue lights in our apartment, and they have a setting to sync up with the log video, resulting in warm, slightly flickering light. It’s festive as hell.
