I see them in a similar way as achievements: in that it's a artificial way to keep a player hooked on game and enables weak gameplay.

I remember how GT 1 and 2 had that where not only would the car lose it's shinyness but also where it would get dirty it would eventually create a little bit of drag and slow you ever so slightly!

Very pretty. I just hope that when you pick a class you can still evolve into your own style of play (for example becoming a tank that casts heals and other magic!), also I really hope that recent events haven't made the soundtrack digital only, that would suck harder than Rianna caught in a vacum factory!
