Here's the thing, MGS isn't trying to be Thief, and is a far better game for it. Weather you agree with this really doesn't matter as both series have their own strengths and weakness'.

I'm of the opinion that HL2 was rubbish compared to the first game in the trilogy/ series, nice physics puzzles though... So I'm hoping that HL3 should it ever arrive would be more like the first than the second!
