Are you familiar with the phrase, “The banality of evil”? It’s the central lesson of the 20th century? That anyone can fall prey to ideology and commit atrocities? And we should examine it, polite manners and all, and that the concept that examining it is some how an endorsement/normalization is insidious? Because it

4K content is barely a thing. You think 8K is going to be mainstream anytime soon?

it’s too bad so many viewers today have been conditioned to watching faster cut films —to prize economy above all else. in my mind, the film was perfectly paced for the mood it was trying to express - blade runner feels rare and unique, unwilling to conform to contemporary expectations and boxes.

If you thought a nearly-three-hour film was too long and too slow, I’m wondering how you would think a longer six-part (and presumably six-hour-long) series would have been better ...

It just shows you’re not the target market for an OLED set, for folks that care about video presentation they beat the quality of a $600 LCD hands down, if you can’t see or don’t care about the difference in quality, then don’t buy one.

So much this. Sorry, DC fanboys. Those “better things to come” are never coming until someone else has control of these characters and starts over.

Villains aren’t the point of the MSCU. The heroes are. If you want villains.... Look to real life.

No

Superman returning being a spoiler is absolutely insane when you consider post credit scenes and advertising for this movie. It’d be a bigger surprise if he never showed up and instead we get Green Lantern popping up in his place.

Speaking of what did you think of Thor: Ragnarok? I’m still a bit mixed if I thought it leaned too heavily on comedy or not.

Yeah, I’m bored with these. The superhero genre is saturated and DC was way too late in getting its act together. Now that their movies have graduated from terrible to mediocre, people like me are starting to tune out.

It occurs to me that this might be why MCU has been doubling down on the strange and almost bombastic lately. With Phase 3 the most “Grounded” films were Civil War and Spider-Man:Homecoming, outside that you’ve gotten explorations into fantastical worlds, visuals, etc.

I like these characters, but with so many superhero movies out, it has to be a good flick for me to spend my time watching it. Maybe it’s fatigue or something, but mediocre ain’t gonna cut it when there’s a constant stream of this stuff.

also, everytime that philosophy has been tried, it’s ended with income inequality, massive debts, and recessions

What if it works, though? What if the corporate and finance sectors are so happy to have a pro-business guy in there that stocks surge and companies start expanding?

I hope this article is satirical, cause it’s blistering hot garbage.

This. I am beyond done with the moping and pissing and whining. People didn’t wallow in misery like this after fucking 9/11, for shit’s sake.

Depends on who you voted for. I voted Hillary and actually enjoyed this article, even if it’s not satirical. It’s a good balance to this site and all of the other Post-Gawker sites.
