Oh , I’m on to you!

This is beginning to sound like that episode of Monk where a method actor gets cast as Mr Monk in an adaptation of one of his cases, only to be gradually driven mad by trying to embody all of his neuroses.

Last week, I gave you a couple of verbal challenges. First, I asked you to find one-syllable words that become three-syllable words when one letter is added to the end of them. Shout-out to commenter fffuuuuu, who got all three:

As others have pointed out, it is structured like a classic dramedy. Meaning basically it is like a mirror image of a show like Northern Exposure, where everyone is deliciously awful instead of endearingly charming.

I’m wondering if anyone else watching Andor here is a fan of the old BBC science fiction series Blake’s 7 (1978-81) and is getting a similar vibe. The show was also about a group of rag-tag rebels living in a totalitarian universe. It’s production values were very much on the level of old-school Doctor Who, so instead

I’ve gone from “Ugh, is this show really a good idea?” to “ONLY TWO SEASONS?!?!?!  :(

Well, I fucking loved it. Aunt Petunia caused a riot, people! Up yours, Potter!

I liked Rogue One, it was and remains easily the best Star Wars film since the original trilogy, but it was far from perfect.

Rogue One bored the heck out of me despite how much I enjoyed Chirrut’s nonsense and regardless of K-2SO being the most well-developed (only developed) character with the most interesting arc (only actual arc) in the movie.

Yeah it seems like anything to do with Rogue One is good, it’s the only movie I accept since the original trilogy too. This show is so good, I’m going to be so upset when the season is over. The other TV shows are ok, entertaining but not on this level.

Week 8 of Damn I Love This Show.

I’d actually say that - at least so far - on a whole the story of Andor is looking to be a lot more important to the mythos/world of Star Wars than almost any other recent TV show/spin-off. Obi-Wan’s grand contribution was ret-conning a single line from RotJ, while Andor is basically showing the entire conception of

I need a “The Office” style sitcom built around the Bureau of Standards

I can’t believe how good this show is. After Boba Fett and Obi-Wan (both shows I largely disliked), I really thought all of these Star Wars shows were going to be relatively lazy efforts featuring familiar characters and contrived plots. But this show has the quality of a high-prestige drama with great characters,

Yeah, and I love that the stakes are so remarkably unremarkable to the point where the heroes could have all been wiped out in this mission, and it probably would have affected absolutely nothing in the greater scheme of things.

Honestly, I think Rise of Skywalker just about killed any interest I ever had in The Force. Between that and the fact that with every passing day my interest in any sort of religion gets smaller and smaller, I’m with you - let the Jedi die, and let’s get back to what made Star Wars great: a believable, lived-in,

Same here. I know that for many people Star Wars=Jedi & The Force and there’s nothing wrong with that.

The sound of a TIE fighter is a classic. The Nazis put sirens on their Stuka dive bombers as a terror inducer. Sounds ike the same thing with TIE fighters.

Same here. I don’t want to jinx it by admitting it, but as of this moment it’s everything I ever wanted the Star Wars universe to be.

Trade-ins, that’s how. I’ve been getting a new phone every year or so for a while that way - after the initial buy-in, I’ve ended up paying somewhere between zilch and a hundred bucks or so at a time to swap out last year’s phone for the new hotness, or to switch brands.
