"It's pretty neat… although were it real, that would mean one minute less of Breaking Bad every week, so perhaps it's better it remains in the Internet's imagination."

Seriously? It's like these festivals KNOW I couldn't ever afford going and so they purposely get ALL the good music.
The title of this article feels like a headline to a newspaper in the first act of a really shitty horror movie.
That about sums it up. Whedon DOES know how to pick 'em.
I'm encouraged to applaud AND shake my fists in rage at you.
"It’s hard to listen to the podcast regularly and not fall in love with Kirkman"
Second that to Willow from Buffy. Would she count as a manic pixie dream girl?
'“Does [my character] have any redeeming qualities at all?” They looked
at me like I was nuts. What did I do? I killed one son, I tried to kill
the other son. I threatened my grandson with a gun, and the motivation
was that I wanted to protect my legacy—and be able to pass it to whom?'
Mike Birbiglia, to name one. His "Sleepwalk With Me" album was very deep and fascinating. I caught his new show here in Salt Lake a couple weeks back and it's almost as great. The guy knows how to pay off strong, silent moments.
That last sentence sums it up perfectly. I don't think I'll check this out unless I hear really good things about it. I'll be honest, though, if Brian K. Vaughan's name had been one of the writers listed, I would've been on board instantly.
So basically the ending twist was "Nina Is the Mole" from Season 1 of '24', only less cool?
1. Fair enough, but I was just going off the AV Club's grade for the Pilot (A-) and assumed it was pretty good.
2. Doesn't sound like a bad concept…
3. And the twist really doesn't sound too bad on its surface, either. Was it just awful execution? Or impossible/poorly-handled character motivations?
Who wants to enlighten a noob? I have no desire to watch this show, but I'm curious to know how it (according to the AV Club's episode grades and people in the forums) started great but descended into crap. So yeah, I'm pretty much asking you guys to spoil the plot of the first season (in a brief summary, no need to…
Not enough love given for the Proopcast, though I now have many suggestions to check out.
This write-up is so fucking good it makes me ANGRY. I didn't think you guys would actually review the episode for the Advent Calendar since it's only barely Christmas-y, but as a Lost fanboy, I highly appreciated it.
If we were doing this post one year ago, I would've been able to include them truthfully. (my response is assuming you named them facetiously)
Ditto.
I discovered Ben Folds this year; became an instant fan the first time I listened to Rockin' the Suburbs all the way through. For years, the only song I knew of his was…well, do I even NEED to say which one? So for years I had him pegged as boring soft-rock piano-ballad guy. RTS and Whatever and Ever Amen convinced me…
"…it just didn’t leave my turntable for months."
