omfg. Seriously? You think that women, specifically white women, didn't care about their right to vote before black men could? Have you ever picked up a history book? You don't think that maybe one thing made the other thing easier to accomplish? That's like saying gay people didn't care about marriage equality

This, so much. It's too early in the A.M. for me to attempt that snark and not come off as a complete asshole.

2 minute youtube shorts even.

The "What did you learn at school today?" question is all about phrasing. I guarantee that if you change it to "What was your favorite thing you learned today?" you will more often than not get an answer other than "nothing." I learned that as an early childhood educator.

Maybe I just live a sheltered life (in Madison, WI) or am overly selective about the people I spend time around (both are likely true), but where do you meet or experience all these men (I'm assuming) that mock the way women speak? I read a lot about generalizations of women by men on Jez, but have never experienced

I grew up around colonies in IL. We did not appear to have these problems, but since I moved when I was 14, I've been out of the gossip circle for quite some time. At least 4 of my Amish classmates have left that church. One got pregnant and was shunned, 1 needed modern eye-surgery to avoid permanent blindness (he

Holy fuck. I grew up around Mennonite and Amish colonies. The Amish weren't even this ass-backwards when it came to these things, and all of the Mennonite community were required to finish high-school, unlike the Amish. All of them were bound to U.S. laws. I guess Bolivia is not on my list of places to visit. I'm

Donna was my favorite companion. There was none of the sexual tension with that character that there was with the others, and Donna grew from an annoying, shallow, diffident character to an enjoyable, witty and confident companion that nearly sacrificed herself to save the universe. I was very sad to see her go.
