    Point made then. :)

Interesting interpretation. Based on his response, mine is that he simply didn’t know/remember/understand the point of the parable - thus his defensiveness. Either way, the snark in response to the comment on the real meaning of the parable was kind of dickish.

Nice sarcasm to avoid actually admitting that you did, in fact, utterly butcher the story YOU CHOSE to make some your point (such as it was).

Wouldn’t I want to make this change at my router, rather than on each device connected to my home network?

Kind of jarring to end an article specifically about RIFLE injuries with the 33K deaths statistic. Not only is almost 1/2 of that number suicides (which are pretty much never done with rifles), even the murder part consists of a VERY small number of rifle uses. But I guess just listing the much smaller number of

If only I thought the whole divestiture thing was a meaningful and serious movement. It would be a great time to pick up some artificially undervalued stocks.

Like much of the anti-free speech actions in the US, the process is the punishment.

AR-15 aren’t “Military-grade assault weapons”. They can be described as “military-style” perhaps. But functionally, in terms of rate of fire, lethality of rounds fired and general effectiveness they are exactly the same (if not worse) than “normal” semi-automatic hunting rifles.

    You sound like the NRA!

    Ok then.

You honestly think we should ban all semi-automatic (or in your words “automated”) weapons? Good luck with that.

True, although looking at the list of mass public killings (ie, one criminal, many victims at the same time - so not serial killers), the weapons vary widely. You’d think it would be weighted toward AR-15s based on common perception. But it isn’t. Handguns are more common. https://www.cga.ct.gov/2013/rpt/2013-R-0057.ht

Interesting. Like all “sources with knowledge” reports, I’ll wait to see what is actually publicly released.

I called you out on a bullshit figure. It’s bullshit, as you seem to admit with your “I may not have exact figures”. Admit it and move on.

Billions? Heck, if you are going to just make shit up, go for TRILLIONS. And use some exclamation points, it will really drive home your point.

I’m assuming that Big Small Cog was referring to shot by an AR-15 - which is what his statement was about. Looking at the FBI link you helpfully provided “Rifles”, which would include as a SMALL subset AR-15 type “assault weapons”, are involved in the following number of murders:

They’ve found Russian money pouring into the NRA? Interesting claim. Any source?

My guess is that Symantec is going to end up losing a lot more business from NRA supporters by this decision than they ever would have from some hypothetical anti-NRA boycott.

If she had breasts this would have been REALLY distracting. :)
