So ummmm... where do I sign up for Gizmodo Hong Kong to test tech and write articles?! I would love to get my mits on a GSM Droid 2 (wonder if they'll call it the Milestone 2 since the Droid was the Milestone here).

@Martian Yeti: Also, you have to think of the design of the board. They layout of the circuit may not have allowed but for that particular spot. They did cram a lot of stuff onto that pretty small logic board.

@Kat Hannaford: No worries. I was recently critiqued poorly (in a very odd situation mind you) on my English grammer from a Hong Kong University, which has me doubting my skills.

I promise I'm not being rude when I ask this, but is it "...left off his own accord" or "... left of his own accord"

@Benedinho: is it me, or does that snow leopard look extremely pissed??

@Maave: Nothing really. There is a high possibility that a "researcher" is currently working on it, but has either a) yet to make his findings public or b) has yet to fully crack it [and possibly c) yet to fully crack it at a reasonable price as shown above]

"ctrl p" for the non-mac-a-philes amongst us. (that's all you windows and ubuntu [maybe a few fedora] people here)

@Cats: ha! Not quite... Nothing (by far) quite so exciting. It is an Enterprise Resource Planning application... which is basically an inventory system for retail products. And the company I work for sells jewelry (nothing fancy, mind you, more like fashion jewelry).

@isuee94: Of course... most programmers are lazy. Pretty known fact, but no... that's not the reason for this. And just so you know, 1's and 0's are whole numbers. And remember, not all numbers divide evenly (i.e. 10/3). Yes, you can easily round those numbers, but whose to say how you round 'em?

@Epon: It's Oracle, which isn't the problem (for this anyway) and again, it's an open source application that my company chose to use. There are several hundred pre-existing tables with 5 years worth of data in them already, plus tons of code to compensate. Too late in the game to change now. Not that I'm defending

@Epon: Unfortunately the database is part of Compiere (an open source ERP). It came pre-configured, sadly.

@BLVC25: oh there are tons of different ways to handle this in today's non-GOTO world (even allowing for extreme levels of precision)... It's just getting some of the idiots to use 'em.

As a programmer currently working on an ERP system (application that manages money and inventory for retail companies) I can see how this happened. When you save a number like 1.46 into a database, it will (sometimes) save as 1.46xxxxx, where x is some [not so random] number. This is because different computers handle

@Vexorg: Have you met Pesti-Esti who owns his own business and sent you a notice for a 60 days past due?? (note for clarification: go up about 4 posts)
