Kanji are Japanese characters. Kanji are adopted but referring to them as Japanese characters isn't an inaccurate statement. However, not all Japanese characters are also Chinese characters.

I'd expect this sort of "expert" photo analysis from commenters.

You're assuming that all people respond identically to the same drug. In short, no.

Is it really that hard for Giz commenters to Google? First hit on bath salts for me explains it.

In case you haven't noticed, using words as they are defined isn't a focus at Gizmodo. Apparently that applies to the commenters as well.

"I see Google as solving legitimately difficult technological problems, not doing stupid things like cloning Facebook."

Overrated is overrated. Word is used too often in place of "I don't care for".

Be careful with the nitpicking. If you don't remember from your English classes, built isn't just past tense. It can also be used as future perfect as it is above.

"He should" based on your preference?

The micro USB proponents don't fully understand the dock connector and it's obvious from their comments that they're only running on "proprietary bad!" reasoning with little other thought put into the matter. Pros and cons, pros and cons. There are reasons why there are so many dock connector accessories and nowhere
