I would LOVE the US to embrace capsule hotels, especially along the big interstate exits.

Ok there’s a lot of details missing here.

16 dorms per floor get a window. The other 496 do not.

For a bedroom in a house to meet code it has to have a window directly to the outside that permits egress. How the fuck does this building achieve that.

Seriously, I find it hard to imagine California having a building code that would allow for that many people with only two entrances and exits, much less residential housing without natural light requirements

I will never understand how someone with a child could think murdering the other parent would be anything but the worst kind of trauma for that kid. Especially knowing you are likely going to be caught making your kid effectively an orphan.

Yes, please do this so that the kid’s lawyer can ask for a mistrial.

65% is not the healthy home ownership number you think it is.

That’s because you’re a peon and not rich and well connected.

The idiot ended up hitting people with a 2+ tonne metal object whilst trying to harm them in a different manner. I don’t see why charging this person is at all a question.

Nice idea,... you know aside from the potentially devastating effects on the housing market for actual people looking for a place to live.

It’s not a nice idea at all, are you kidding? They’re pricing individual homebuyers out of the market and driving up the average sale prices of homes, to the point that the only buyers who can compete are other large corporations.

“Fix them up” is pretty generous, from the Zillow houses I’ve seen. The one I looked at left all kinds of exterior issues; bad roof, rotting siding, rotting decking, damage to HVAC unit, etc. I didn’t bother to go inside at that point, but the pictures in the listing made it appear that they hadn’t done anything other

It should be illegal for any non-individual entity to own a single family property. Fuck these corporations for trying to price gouge people on one of the cornerstones of basic human existence.
