I’m...ok with this; but every time I see more news on this game I find myself getting progressively more disappointed.

The name “eFootball” reminds sounds me of all those knockoff smart devices that show up in the discount bins at tj maxx and Marshalls.
And Famitsu gave this game the score of 9/8/9/8, the same score they gave to Metroid Dread and one point below the score of PES 2018, I kind want to read their review now XD
I did say this would happen. I was so excited when they said they were taking a year off to redo the game and bring it to a new engine for a truly next gen feel.
Yeah, that’s how you get out of this mess, capitulate to the right. Blizzard is a bunch of idiots. They’re under fire because of the culture inside the studio, not because of tongue in cheek jokes. Ultimately it’s not a big deal by itself, but it’s snowballing quickly.
How in the hell is hacking (a crime) and leaking stuff illegally going to “foster more disruption and competition”?
It’s pretty likely that these “kids” are actually like 30 year-olds at this point.
So the kids are still saying pwned these days? I guess that makes me feel a little less old!
Can’t believe it’s already been 3 years... I guess the last 2 years were kind of distracting.
To an extent, but still not able to fully explain the difference. Nintendo DOES have a proprietary compression tool that is nigh godly at reducing file sizes.
the big thing is Nintendo has had a proprietary compression method in house for decades (a proto version was used on Gold and Silver for the gameboy to fit both Kanto and Johto onto the cartridge and then it became a standard tool during gamecube development.)
the thing is even other developers on the switch struggle with file size while Nintendo just compresses like a champ. Breath of The Wild for instance only takes 13.4 GB and is a massive sprawling game. If nintendo licensed out it’s Dolphin compression system to 3rd parties I imagine we’d get a lot more switch games on…
People talk about textures and all that, but having a good coder who can make some good compressed files go a very very long way.
Comparing to Mario Odyssey and Zelda BOTW, that’s pretty tiny. Then again, the game would be 2D instead of fully 3D. And not surprisingly, Nintendo is godly when its come to compression in order to reduce file sizes. Their games doesn’t have insanely-high-res textures to be used for UHD and 4K resolutions.
On the one hand, it’s still fairly subtle.
I like open world more than you seem to (loved BOTW, etc) but the idea that a game as claustrophobic and progression-centric as Metroid should be open world is fucking insane.
While I’d love to see an attempt at a more “open” Metroid game, Prime 3 would have been a disaster if attempted. It was just too early for a studio, even a good one like Retro, to pull it off. I don’t want Grand Theft Metroid. Nor do I want Samus dropped in an Elder Scrolls type blank(ish) slate. I’d argue that before…
If anybody has a card they’re afraid might get bricked, you can send it over to me for analysis and safekeeping.
In case you didn’t read and had not heard, it’s not just EVGA cards, so no that should not be the title. Also, hardware defect or not, it’s the demand that New World puts on the hardware that brings this out.
But apparently it’s no longer just EVGA 3090's.
