They are, but physical PC games are almost nonexistant these days. They’re usually just an empty box with a key.

Game Freak’s dev cycle is so short it’s finally biting them in the ass.

I’m not sure how copyright law differs in Japan, but Nintendo is a Japanese company and I know Japanese laws regarding use of intellectual property are much, much stricter.

Pokemon Black holds a special place in my heart and is one of the best Pokemon games, imo. Also Dragon Quest VIII. This was my first DQ game (the 3DS game) and it got me hooked on the series. It’s real proof that “old” or “dated” mechanics don’t matter if the core is solid.

It depends. They also didn’t translate 99% of the insert text, which really takes away from the experience, imo. It’s important for the plot.

The new dub is mediocre, the new subtitles are poor and unnatural, musical cues are missing. Netflix really screwed this one up.

In music, artists have been stealing dance moves for decades.

I don’t think it helps that games usually cost~20-30% more than they do in other regions. Golden Week is a real wallet-drainer.

I bought it when it was $5 on Origin. Just didn’t scratch the itch that the Sims 3 does for me, sadly. Still for free, it’s worth giving a try. The character creation is fun to mess around with at least.

Tamagachi have been expensive for years and people still buy them lmao.

Sims 3 is the best in the series gameplay wise, imo. The worst optimized, but the gameplay is great. It’s just a shame EA released Island Paradise then immediately moved on to the Sims 4 leaving it broken and unplayable.

Looks interesting, but with the fixed camera and the graphics it reminds me of PS1 horror titles more than anything.

Many. Past scandals don’t matter very much when it comes to selling media.

I don’t know why you’re so hung up over trading employees, this sort of thing happens in industries like sports constantly.

Nothing’s free lmao. I’d rather pay for a game and get everything than get it for free and find it crammed full of predatory microtransactions.

Reminds me a bit of the premise of “Coppelion” a few years back.

I’m the same way! I used to hate cabbage, but after living in Japan, I’ve grown to appreciate Japanese-style salad, which is more often than not is really just shredded cabbage lmao. I’m normally a salad hater, but give me a bed of shredded cabbage with some fried fish and I’ll gobble it up.

In this case it is very clearly a swastika. Bringing up the swastika’s use in other cultures would only apply if it was a manji or in a Native American context. A lot of people try to use that argument without understanding the vast differences in how the swastika was presented in other cultures and by nazis.

It’s particularly a stupid choice because black celebrities have endorsed Japanese products in the past. Hell, Jero advertised noodles (in a kimono and baseball cap, no less) a few years ago and he’s also black/Japanese.

One of my absolute favorite things when I lived in Japan was the ebi fillet-o. It’s a shame it hasn’t made its way to America.
