That's pretty much my exact take on this. I have a pretty good PC, and I'm able to run most browsers just fine.

i dont really think about performance anymore and to be honest most browsers on my machine(s) run about the same speed. Painting time, for each browser varies but it's not noticeable. all i really care about is html/css compliance, which chrome is currently dominating, so it's my dominant browser choice.
