huh? i think the argument is that silicon valley is more right then they want you to believe.

I think we are far enough removed from the peak of the F&F culture that if they got ruined, they aren’t on the road anymore. That being said, you are right, it was worse for cars from the 90's in general.

I’m pretty sure that there was a bit on the rural talk-radio station in GTA 5 where some guy would call in and ask how to tell if a cow was in heat. Danny McBride (?) is describing it and you hear the caller mumbling in the background “oh yeah, tell me about that dirty heifer.”

howling. I hope you get perma-ungreyed for that

You don’t need into get into all the gloom and doom stuff for that post to go home. All I’ve ever said is we entertain the possibility it *might* never happen.

There was some guy on Twitter whose Model 3 burnt down on his driveway, and was making a big stink that Tesla was not responsive even though he just wanted to know why his car spontaneously caught fire.

Speaking from experience. I tried the AM band while driving through SW Michigan once and all I got was some guy telling me about the engorged glands on a buck.

If you’re lucky, you catch some dude talking about whatever animal is in-season and how to spot if its in heat.

Wholeheartedly agree. They just read with more aimless anger than actual thoughtfulness. It was a while back, but there was a hot streak of “anyone who drives an SUV is an asshole and we are all gonna die because of you” blogs in reference to pedestrian safety. Then Torch nearly got drilled by a Tahoe and subsequently

The Zuckerberg Senate hearing was a pretty big inciting moment where normal people caught on that most of big tech is either sociopathic, or has no idea what they are doing. Or both.

I think progressives (which I think most of this site’s writing staff is or tries to be) has more or less turned on silicon valley because its become evident that, at best, silicon valley is just as morally bankrupt as any established company in whatever industry they are trying to “disrupt.” At worse, they are

2nd Gear: Fingers crossed we come to some sort of middle ground where there is a place you can go to sit in/test drive, and get service on your vehicle, but still handling the buying process online. Theoretically, pulling the finances all the way out of the model would get all the slimeballs out of that profession.

Right, there really wasn’t much sense bringing the modding part into it. The fundamental point is there is at least one other option out there for a cheap, light, FR manual. Even if the power is dismal and it isn’t a convertible.

Probably should have put more emphasis on the “unmolested” part. I’m not disagreeing they would have still been legendary, and people knew it at the time. I’m saying we would have more desirable examples out there if there wasn’t some weirdo culture that was hellbent on ruining them.

the seller makes the bold claim that “these cars are only going up in value.”

I blame the fast and furious movies. People wouldn’t have to pay $100k on bringatrailer for an unmolested RX7 if it weren’t for those god damn movies.

Would be pretty goddam hilarious if the guy with the charger shows up in something gas powered.

Russian flag or not, that look kinda owns.

there is something obviously outdated, obviously doomed about Hertz’s business model.
