Wow, I can't believe I didn't know that (or completely forgot it, even if I'd heard it at some point). Very nice of Ball to give him such a plum role, and heartening to see Macdissi return the favor by nailing it so thoroughly.
I liked her until she spent the entire pressure test last week cackling with glee at Bime's meltdown.
While I watched, I was trying to decide if the bride was actually a bitch, or if the comically-drawn-on Cruella de Ville eyebrows just made me think she was one.
"Do you have your cake towel?"
She eats retrograde casual racists?

Or yacht.
Something tells me that Sister Sister is not the uptight one in your family.
Why would a nun object to the implication that a married couple is having sex?
It's such an easy show to binge on once you get started. I actually just loaned my DVD boxed set to a friend yesterday, and I cautioned her to make sure her calendar was clear for a few hours before starting, because it's pretty hard just to watch one episode at a time.
Yup. It was a LONNNNGGG slog to "gordita," but man, what a payoff.
I'm with you. Spoilers are basically assumed risks in reviews of TV shows. There's going to be some recapping mixed with the review and analysis, and I think most people who read the T.V. Club comments do so to discuss what they've already seen.
It's almost as though they said to themselves, "Well, Eve Best is leaving, so we'll need to replace the O'Hara character with another sexy gal who dresses nice." But the character is just horribly written. And though I'm not familiar with the actress's other work, I think the job she's done portraying the character is…
Holy crap, I completely forgot until reading your comment that Jackie had sex with Cruz early this season. It's been a pretty scattered group of episodes, no?
The Jackie/O'Hara relationship was also fun; the show lacks a certain rhythm and ease without the scenes between them. Plus, I really enjoyed Eve Best; next to Merritt Wever's Zoey, her O'Hara was my second-favorite supporting actor/character on the show, even if she was a bit one-note sometimes.
Angelica is the WORST.
Angelica is the WORST.
On the handful commentary tracks on the DVDs, everyone from Alan Ball on down—including Lauren Ambrose herself—remarks at some point that she's at her best as an actress when she's not speaking, but silently reacting to others.
