Ooooh, I found a clip of ‘Up Against the Clock’ the quiz show that became a part of Up when he hosted it. He went for full 70s game show host cheese.

I used to watch him when he had four morning hours on the weekend. He wasn’t as good as Chris Hayes, who he replaced, but he was great at cutting through a Democratic talking point to get to the truth underneath. If you’re going to give the guy good news, he’s going to make sure it’s true.

The only bad thing I’ve read about him is that he doesn’t eat his veggies. (Seriously, there was a profile that mentioned he put out some bell pepper strips out at his Super Bowl party as a joke -- because nothing else being served would be considered healthy -- and they were left untouched by the end of the night.)

I guess it could happen if someone started an episode of Fuller House, just turned off the TV and then Stamos showed up in less than 20 minutes but why did a room for... er, making a sperm sample have Netflix as an option. What’s sexy enough to wank to on Netflix? Sense8, maybe but you’d need to know where the orgy

The thing about polls is that the real magic comes in trying to figure out who will actually vote (and whose vote will get counted). They probably have a good idea how various demographics will vote but different turnouts will yield different results.

He didn’t “let” a brain damaged man be executed, broke from campaigning for president to go back to Arkansas to facilitate the execution and make a display of how he was tough on crime.

We’re kinda already stuck with them, at least as morning TV hosts, but its easier to say we don’t think they got where they are fairly if we also work to come up with reasons why we feel Chelsea Clinton is different.

Carter is the only President where our appreciation increases the more we learn about him.

There has been some but it’s been more than just the idea that ‘straight actors shouldn’t play queer characters.’

The kids are how I recognized it while watching Sabrina.

And Fairey had to work out a payment system for the photograph he used in his Hope poster. You can’t argue that you’ve altered the image and now its yours, either.

There have been moments in Broad City I liked but overall I think Ilana (the character) is a pretty shitty person and I don’t find it funny when the universe finds new ways to shit on Abbi (the character, again). I liked the episode where Abbi gets high during dental surgery and wanders around the city, since she

I thought he was pretty aptly cast in Sorry to Bother You, but that might be faint praise considering the role.

My impression from other discussions is less about parents preventing kids from seeing R rated movies but theatres enforcing R ratings, thanks to religious groups creating outrage about some movies.

I guess it’s a reboot as much as the comic The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina reboots the Sabrina the Teenage Witch comics (which has been through a few reboots, I wish I could get a full collection of the manga influenced Sabrina, which wrote her like a Sailor Moon-style magical girl).

To pretend there was a real point, I’ll add that Kimmel has put in the effort to learn and grow from the controversies he’s faced. Kelly hasn’t changed from her ‘Santa is white, he just is’ to ‘What’s wrong with Blackface for Halloween?’

I read the headline and my interest was definitely piqued because pop culture has definitely approached witchcraft as a feminist space. That makes sense, pop culture frequently depicts witchcraft as a way for women to claim power in a world that works to deny them power.

TBH, I loved this show but I’m kinda relieved. I don’t know if they could have kept up the quality and now (unless it gets saved by another company) I don’t have to worry about it going downhill.

Since I guess it wasn’t clear to you, I don’t think she was a reasonable thinker. I think she’s a dumbass privileged shithead racist. However, this is something we see in “mainstream” media again and again — racists like her are seen as being “serious” and “dealing with tough subjects”. Meanwhile, journalists who lean

IMO, she was hired because executives at NBC bought into the hype of Kelly, the one who would get heavy media coverage for being a stopped clock at Fox, for very occasionally being right about things at a network where everyone else (not named Shep) is consistently wrong. Her past bits of racism weren’t liabilities,
