Oooh! The pic on the right is from TV! That’s where the grumpy green monster from Sesame Street lives!

As a believer in second chances, I was willing to believe him when he said he reformed but the next thing I saw him in (I didn’t seek him out so it took a while) was a ANTM challenge where he gave the models instructions from an ear piece and they had to make it look natural to people they encountered on the street.

When I heard about this I didn’t think I would give him anything but I might follow this person’s lead:

Comic writer Gail Simone weighed in:

Yeah, other shows have visited this turf before. Faking It parodies performative wokeness among white cishets looking for a token to make their mascot. Awkward had Sadie, the “popular” bully who used her abusive personality to make the school fear her as a cover for her size.

You don’t have to be attracted to women to sexually harass or assault one, there are plenty of stories from women about being groped by gay men who think it’s okay to do because they ‘don’t mean it that way’. (Similarly, the last time I read an article on the topic, most of the sexual harassment against men was

“I want to end the series with #300" is fine if you have an idea of where you want to take the series and estimate that’s approximately how long you think it’ll take to get there. Saying you want to end with #300 because it’s a nice, landmark number while people are already saying your story is just twirling its

When the show was good I thought about checking out the comics. If I were still thinking about it, I’d be convinced otherwise when Kirkman talks about ending the series with #300 but doesn’t manage to give any rationale other than reaching #300.

Yeah, it used to be a group focused on actual gun safety. But by the time The Simpsons got around to portraying NRA members as the kind people who would tell Homer Simpson that he’s too irresponsible to own a gun, they objected to being portrayed as gun-takers.

Generally I think two days but with the way this show tells stories, (cliffhangers that just turn out to be a way to drag out the story) I find this one pretty moot.

A few episodes after the Glen/Abraham deaths. I already mentally checked out the first time they pretended to kill off Glen but my husband was still into it. When we started watching the episode I already read spoilers on who met Lucille. At that point, my husband was getting tired of how often TWD’s writers couldn’t

I wonder how much is also tied to religion. JFK’s election was the turning point for a lot of anti-Catholic sentiments. He seems to be especially beloved by older Italian-American and Irish-American Catholics.

I’ve known some fairly misogynistic gay men and it infuriates me greatly. I’ll try to explain the intersection of misogyny and homophobia, sometimes I’ll get though. It’d be nice if they were feminist because it’s the right thing to do but it sometimes works to tell them not being shitty to women is good for them, too.

I feel like a decade ago a lot of this discussion would have been dismissed in some feminist communities as “what about the menz”. Maybe that’s still happening somewhere but I’m relieved to see that this time talking about how sexual assault also affect straight men isn’t seen as a derailing the topic but getting into

A college roommate had a School Ties poster *before* the movie came out. He was really conservative Christian (before the end of the semester we ended up asking each other at the same time to sign roommate change agreements). My friends would see that poster and ask me if I was sure he was straight, it struck them as

Since I’m an old, this makes me wonder — do the kids these days still get assigned to read The Pigman (which is what I how I know Paul Zindel’s name) in school? I remember when we met kids from other schools, eventually it’d come out that they also remembered reading it for english class... and then we’d play some

Ah, that’s right. I forgot about making sure to avoid ultrapasteurized milk, it’s been a while since I’ve done this. Thanks for the reminder!

Oooh, that’s one of my favorites. The big tubs of Noosa is usually an occasional treat for me but is so nice. I always say I’ll just eat half and finish it the next day but that never happens so I limit how often I buy it. Noosa and Brown Cow cream-top yogurt.

Oooh, didn’t think of using a thermos. What’s your recommendation for starter culture? I usually just grab some plain yogurt with active cultures but is there one that has the best results?

I know blogging doesn’t offer a lot of time to research but a star for understanding the problem with Derren Brown better than Aimee did.
