For a moment it looked like they were grooming Geist to be the next Lauer (and maybe Thomas Roberts to be somewhere in that mix) but I guess Lauer found a way to stop that and keep his “I’m all you’ve got” position. I think Geist got sent back to the Morning Joe set.

IDK, I think I’d endure a few of these idiots if that’s the cost of getting a Rachel Bloom in the process.

Part of me suspects this is about convincing people who can afford high end appliances but not a big house that they’re still cool and on-trend.

I think her production company also makes Rachael Ray’s show and she’s not terrible but she was famous before that.

I wish I could find it but I remember seeing an article where one of his former employees talked about working for him during The Apprentice years. Things were great during the first two seasons when the show was a hit but when ratings started dropping he’d get in these terrible moods that they could only fix by doing

Honestly, I wouldn’t be happy about it. I’d feel brief relief, followed by a worry about what will fill the power vacuum.

There were times in TFA when I thought they styled him to look like the cute French boys who would appear in my old French textbooks, maybe that’s it.

But the personality of his Girls character was positively repellent.

Is Nate Berkus the only person Oprah foisted on us who still appears to be decent?

The way I recall the story, they started accepting male customers because it was the only way they could think to expand their customer base, which was a very funny comment on capitalism. I don’t think Diane would have made the same decision if it were her company. Princess Caroline, I’m not so sure...

It’s Peak TV. There are so many shows being made that it’s really hard to get people to hear about a new show to get them to watch.

I saw a carton of Lactaid eggnog a few weeks ago before the craving got really bad and now I’m on a tear trying to figure out which store had it.

As I recall, I think champagne producers were recently fighting the “methode champenoise” label.

Even better, his end-of-show monologue is titled “Let me finish” like it’s everyone else interrupting his succinct thoughts.

The thing about this particular complaint is that its about him making inappropriate comments to a staffer. Considering the shit he says on air, it’s totally plausible to see him saying all kinds of horrific stuff when he doesn’t feel like he has to filter himself.

I haven’t watched Sports Night in a while but every other show of his felt like Mansplaining: The TV Series. I hope Sports Night was the show where the network was still able to keep him in check because I’m planning on turning to it for my Robert Guilliaume fix. (Also a Felicity Huffman/Josh Charles fix but Sports

FWIW, Terry Zwigoff just added that he was considering Sorvino for Bad Santa but every time he’d mention her to the Weinsteins, they would just hang up.

Didn’t he also make a few calls to get the Times to squash an earlier Wienstein story? For me that’s a huge issue, I wonder if a few women might not have been assaulted by Wienstein if that story had been published.

Yeah, I was reading Spurlock’s words here and thinking it seemed like a pretty good public admission, even if he was taking away his victims’ ability to speak out first. But retweeting praise undoes the idea that this might be a first step in learning how to be better.

I never realized that, I thought he did offbeat TV shows and indie films because that was more his style. I have more respect for him.
