always tighten the knob. 9 times out of 10 i pick up a tank and the knob isnt fully tightened, and i pick up tanks often

i regularly carry propane and oxygen canisters inside my car as well, ALWAYS tighten that knob before i put it in the car. that said, ventilation helps, but remember, propane is heavier than air and pools at the lowest point it can.
