Yeah, I’d say that the tournament scene was probably half the audience (if not more) and almost everyone there loves the mechanics. Sure, it’s not a great casual’s game, but I can’t think of a SF that is.

You have to pay “Fight Money” to unlock DLC characters, but that can be earned simply by playing the game. Of course, if you want to spend money on a season pass, you can.

the issue with that is that the CPT is open for anyone to compete in. Now, if they released the current game as “Tournament Edition” at $40 and the full game in June, that would make sense for a more in tune gamer. But a mom buying a game for her kid’s PS4 likely wouldn’t know the difference between the new versions…
