Jerry was a race car driver
He’d say “El Sob number one”
With a Bocephus sticker on his 442
He’d light ‘em up just for fun

This car seems somehow familiar. Maybe another automotive website covered it recently. Hmm.

Lincoln Fleshwood

An intersection of “software people” + “car people” means that ANYTHING is going to be hacked like, day 1.

Vaccinated and boostered. Didn’t get the 2nd booster, but thought about it. I just qualify for it.

My parents’ last car was one of these, which became my nephew’s first car.  They’re damn fine cars, and in these crazy times, that’s a fine price.

Having worked for 33 years in state government, 5 of those in my state’s DOT, and having a daughter who was an engineer for our state’s DOT before moving to the private sector, and having a spouse that is still working for our state’s DOT (in IT), and said state NOT being Pennsylvania:

It’s definitely gotten worse, which makes no sense because the flight attendants are standing there while the first people board. All they have to do is say “please store your bag over your own seat so these people will have room for theirs.”

It’s a cruiser, not a bruiser. Low, slow, and mellow.

My dad, an honorary Jalop if such a thing exists (car guy since the 1950s, just not online), bought a ‘79 Cordoba new. It was off-white with matching champagne-colored Corinthian leather, and the 8-track player worked great with the speakers (the complimentary 8-track tape included the John Williams Star Wars theme

This doesn’t have to cater to the relatively new idea that a luxury sedan has to have 400 horsepower and handle like a sports car.  This is classic cruiser.  Comfortable and soft.  Swallow miles and miles.   Perfect car to burn across Nevada to LA with the windows down and music blasting.

No Dice just on the “Lean Burn” alone.

I’m 99.99% sure that is the fuel tap, on/ off/ reserve

Show me on this doll where the convertible hurt you...

Tom Cochrane made an amazing song. Chris LeDoux covered it really well. Rascal Flatts covered that cover okay.

Why would you listen to this crap over the superior Chris LeDoux version?

You’re crazy. This blue and the maroon are the two best colors of this gen Impala SS

And a bit more rare to boot.

Twin cd175 strombergs - a bit fussier than the earlier SU carbs but I’ve had experience with them. Just keep oil in the dampers or one backfire will take out both diaphragms!!!  The 1725 in the Mark V was a much more capable engine - I drove one for a few months back in the early ‘70s.  He’s got the carbs from the big

Tuning carbs, especially these is really not that big of a deal. Maybe it’s daunting for those that did not grow up in the carb age but trust me, its nothing to be afraid of. Youtube is your friend on this one.
