George Romero’s classic zombie trilogy has always been about “who is the real monster?”. It’s a boring debate but yes TLOU is following the proud tradition of being a piece of zombie media that isn’t really about zombies. 

Yeah no they’re zombies Druckmann. A zombie isn’t a just brand of fantastical monster, it’s a mindless husk of a human lumbering around and responding to animalistic urges. I don’t care that they aren’t pop cultures familiar zombies they’re still the lumbering around mindless monsters. I know this is a crappy example…

They aren’t zombies in universe. But this is, to all intents and purposes, a zombie apocalypse story in the same way that I Am Legend is. Physical attacks, infections, isolated survivors, paranoia, the fall of society - all the hallmarks are there.

Counter Point: Star Wars fucking blows. It’s nigh-unwatchable and has fostered a petulant man-child population, amplified by the existence of the Internet. This is compounded by a complete lack of original ideas in the franchise. Trolling, ala The Last Jedi, is not an original idea. The TV shows suck. The Mandalorian…

The absolute best they can do at this point is to move fifty years in the future and hand-wave away whether the sequel trilogy ever even happened. It’s unsalvageable.

If Andor showed up anything, I think it’s that there is an interesting in taking Star Wars in different directions, you could do the same with movies.
