Oops, wrong Carolina. I just assume everything bad happens in South Carolina by default.

Oh come on. If you’re in the field you’re well aware of what a Haldol cocktail is, and I’m sure if you haven’t administered one you’ve dreamt of it. Same goes for a good old reverse chokehold, sometimes you’re stuck. If you aren’t in the field, you’re the one that’s talking shit about something you don’t know jack…
Ok, you made me laugh out loud, you get a cookie.
Haldol won’t be in the in-flight kit, Lorazepam might, but I wouldn’t bet on it. 50 Benadryl, 50 Gravol IM is probably the best you’re gonna get done on an agitated pt in an airplane, but at that point they’re either still out from being punched in the face or chocked by a passenger, or very well duct-taped or…
There is a lot of non-anesthetic medications that will make you drowsy and that are also standard in the in-flight emergency kits, such as Benadryl and Gravol.
I love flying, but sometimes I hate people. If I were on that flight, he might not have been so lucky, I’m a big fan of chokeholds. I also know my way around IV medications, so he’d have a nice nap all the way to jail.
How about hacking the “Automatic” dongle people willingly pay for and put in their car? That’s a good OBD2 connection no?
Fuck, so many of the talented contributors leaving Gawker. You and Tyler Rogoway were amongst my favourite writers of the whole holding - I’ll be sure to follow you. Best of luck on the new platform!
Looks like a 2000-2005 Buick LeSabre. If anything, that’s a testament to the safety of cars these days, even slightly older ones.
My thoughts exactly.
The 777 is FBW. Forget the old electronics part, the 747-8 selected for AF1 has all the new glass cockpit displays. Those old steam gauges probably haven’t been made in a long time - besides, AF1 has a lot of electronics in the cockpit (I had found a picture once).
I stand corrected, it was a daily route from April 2011 to summer 2012, was reduced to 4 weekly, and canceled in October 2012. Not exactly “a long time”, but it sure is more than “Once.”. I had heard they only flew there once.
They only operate MD11s and 777s.
Because they’re made for that. Hell, the latest generation of 777s as well as the 787 and the A350 can be ETOPS-330 certified, which means they are certified to fly 330 minutes, or 5.5 hours, on one engine towards a suitable airport. With fly-by-wire systems on all of these, there isn’t really a change in the plane’s…
Yeah, but the A380 turned out to be way too big for most carriers and routes. Emirates aside, because they don’t have the same concerns with money, if you look at CDG-YUL, in the top 10 world busiest international routes, after AF made YUL invest millions to be able to receive the A380 they flew it there exactly once…
They required four engines for redundancy. The 777 is arguably a better airplane.
Not surprising at all.
Most phones today have a GPS chip, a GLONASS chip, and HSPA capability. Using cell tower triangulation and GPS+GLONASS, if you’re in range of 3-4 cell towers, you can get accuracy down to fractions of an inch. There really is no excuse, other than “we didn’t make our app accurate because it was less work/cheaper/not…
Oh, I know they’re not in the same league at all. I’m merely saying that the RS is way too much car for a lot of people. The ST is a much better suited car to the vast majority of drivers who want a hot hatch. The RS is fantastic, don’t get me wrong, the demographic is just smaller than Jalopnik makes it sound.
My opinion won’t be popular here, but given how bad most North American roads are, unless you’re tracking it, the Ford you should be getting is the Fusion Sport. It’s AWD too, it gets the full incentives, which the RS does not, insurance sees it as “just a Fusion”, and it’ll be a thousand times more practical and…
