All I care about is the clips in the shape of widdle hedgehogs.

The option I want is Aero, and they removed it after Win7. I like my transparent title bars.

When chip and PIN got launched in Canada years ago, it was a complete mess. Within 1-2 years, it got all sorted out, and now it’s second nature.

Why not a top level intermediate? The Fusion Sport is in the price range, and you’re getting A LOT more car.

Oh yeah. Still, it’s nice to know that just in case my evidence was completely anecdotal and totally irrelevant, there’s also exactly no proof that having it red saves lives.

I’d absolutely love any concrete evidence of a person that was saved specifically because of a seatbelt release button being red as opposed to any other colour.

That makes a lot of sense.

I guess you’ve been to Montreal then. If you want a bit more of the “France french” feel you’ve got to go in the historic section of Quebec City. But yeah, Montreal is just like any 2 million people American city, but that speaks French, has no guns and eats poutine.

Yup, GMs had the button on the side.

I agree! It’s just your first responder example that didn’t work. If I need to get someone out in a hurry, I’ll cut. If we have all our time, I might use the button, but then again, I’ll reach down at the buckle instinctively, whatever colour it is.

Well honestly, you call 911, and you really try not to injure/kill yourself trying to help - if you do, you become just one more patient when I’ll get there.

Oh, well it’s still disrespectful to cut a national anthem, but if they simply skip the anthems as opposed to just cutting after the American one, it can be argued as just another ad opportunity. In that case, it’s strange that they air it in Canada.

I didn’t know, but the fact that it’s a specific procedure makes it even worse.

Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian, but I’m profoundly offended by the fact that a TV station would go to a commercial break during (any) national anthem. Total complete lack of respect.

I was replying to the other guy. Women firefighters are badass - even making it in that men’s world takes more balls than most guys even have. Props to her.

And fucking amber reflectors.

By extension? Canada isn’t the US, and many laws are different (DRL required, for example). We actually don’t require amber front reflectors, yet they’re on every car, because of US law. It doesn’t make me happy.

Dude. Paramedic here. You think I don’t know how to undo a seatbelt?

They have to be the ugliest thing ever. Also, I live in Canada, where no law says the front reflectors need to be amber, but they all are, because it’s cheaper to use US-spec parts than Euro-spec.

I’m actually a first responder, and I think I know pretty well how to undo a seatbelt, whatever colour the button is. Anyways, most of the time I just cut them.
