@Renzor004: I loved the original Descent. I started into 2 a few times, but while it looked nice, I never got hooked.

I had braces in grade 6 for a year, and a wire retainer behind my teeth for another year...
@Reptic: For one thing, the replay value in DoA was always mainly unlocking the costumes. In the first game, some characters even had 15 to choose from. They've traveled backward so far they can't even keep up with 2 generations ago.
@DigitalWolf: Maybe it does - I didn't play Shift 2. I bought Shift 1 and loved the way you have a virtual head that bounces and lurches around, you hear your voice when you get hit, black out, etc. That was excellent, but the cars handled like they had 3-5x as much horsepower as the real world counterparts. Even a…
@DigitalWolf: Well. they have other used game shops like Geo and Super Potato. I do believe you can't rent games in Japan...
@christamofo: It is truly ridiculous that you cannot use the same USB steering wheel with full rotation and force feedback unless you want to dish out ridiculous hardcore cash for it. I looked for one that could do GT and Forza, and... I still play with controllers because there wasn't one.
@greyisokay: No. I liked GT3. I loved GT4. I played GT5P, and decided to save my money. Then I saw reviews and impressions of GT5 and could not believe the inconsistent levels of design. Then I got Forza 3 and it spoiled me; I can't go back until GT makes some big changes.
@Luis Manuel Molina Corona: They show it working with either head turning, or tilting. Also, my eyeballs can turn at different angles, so I'm quite capable of facing the edge of the screen while looking at the center.
@J.: For me, it would make first person driving a practical choice instead of a massive handicap. I always play in third person now if there are other drivers because I have no peripheral vision, and messing with the camera stick is asking for a crash. I'm really looking forward to this.
@MantisRapture: It's a hell of a lot closer than twitching a stick to glance around, losing your orientation because you're travelling sideways now, then crashing. I think this would actually make first person driving viable, so it's not like driving with a neck brace on.
Did anyone else notice that Kinect was VERY close to the player? Great... my setup is pretty much like that, I just have a PS Eye where he has a Kinect! (and no way could I get 8' back from the TV without a wrecking ball!)
19. Waiting for my friends to get one
@Frosted Mini-Wheats: Same here. This one has obvious room for improvement, and Nintendo ALWAYS improves a handheld if it doesn't just die. ...then a year later, it's still available, but much cheaper - but games for anything have short shelf lives, so I'd stock up on those if you know you'll get one eventually.
Sports Champions - if you can at least grip firmly, you basically play with your index finger on the trigger. If you need to line up a shot in disc golf or something, you can just twist the controller around and hit the PS button with your finger.
@Kinetic: You're making all kinds of wild assumptions here. How often do you crash your house? Yet, you still buy insurance for it. Automated cars would still crash sometimes, as accidents happen, computers aren't perfect, and downtime happens. I already mentioned road conditions that can damage cars ("Potholes and…
@Kinetic: Ever is a long time. We already have parts of this in use NOW - automatic crash avoidance braking systems, rear backup alarms, pushbutton hands-free parallel parking systems. In 5 years, I could see highway automation systems. In 10 I could see legal pilot programs for automatic urban driving, certainly in…
@MyPonyRocks: For sure. I'm one of those "luddites" who still drives with a manual transmission, so I know what you're saying! But I mean, Kinetic is saying governments can do this and choose not to - I'm showing that they chose to, and have already been doing it for years. I bet you've seen a lot of drivers who would…
I like the HUD idea, but think it should be used as minimally as possible. Too much text on screen there IMO. I do like the idea of the car spotting human-like shapes (let's be realistic - there will be false positives and misses) and flagging them with a small arrow. Some people will get used to only looking for the…
