@bharvey13: What? What's Glyde.com and who are the soulless corporate overlords? The players in the equation are the ones involved in the transaction.

@Dr. Homer Bowtie: Fascinating... There is still a market for stabilizers though - or "line conditioners" for hi-fi, and especially finicky devices (or just terrible power supplies like some old apartments...)

No RX-7 or Skyline? For shame... It's so iconic it doesn't even need to be referred to by name - just "Godzilla."

@Jaswal: You cannot. AKs and all variants, like the Saiga series, are banned. You CAN get lookalikes.

@nuggular: After taking apart a DS Lite, I wouldn't be surprised. The switches and sliders are practically hair-thin. Make one slight mistake when reassembling, and it's off to buy a new switch - that has "on" and "off" but solders down to 6 micro-pads. I've repaired all sorts of electronics including replacing a PSP

@badasscat: Well said... I'm undecided on Ranma 1/2 - I got into anime watching it dubbed, and so it seems more natural to me. Other than that, I go subbed or raw when I can (though I'd want the original English dub of Akira too...)

@seventyfourmanx: No. If something is hosted on Hulu, it's better than being banned, because it's rarely mirrored, but it's also not watchable. There are proxies that can sneak around it, but... meh. There's other stuff to watch elsewhere.

@pen.suhl: There's no reason to get over it. It's comparatively free on everything else, so if you have any choice at all, it'd be silly to use it on 360 unless you already buy Gold for some other reason.

@cmcanuck: Cars are one of the worst analogies. For one thing, the company that makes the cars makes a killing reselling used cars from their dealerships too (though not always their own brand, so... it varies.) It's also more likely that a car may have 2-3 owners in 10-15 years, as opposed to a game going to 5 people

I've long been saying preowned is no different than pirated in the eyes of the publisher, but that point is true - people who buy used are more likely to have bought new than a pirate. A lot of people would assume that just because they're buying a pressed copy in a store, that they're supporting the makers - but they

Yes. I tend to turn them on, because while I may be able to hear what they're saying most of the time, games have no rewind, so if someone tells me to go out, meet my contact, and then havnshmrglw before returning to the rendezvous... I'm screwed, and have to load the game. I also never know when I'll be interrupted,

@ifandbut: Don't worry - you're not as far behind the curve as you think... if at all. Personally, I was thrilled to have a job after looking for work for a year after college. It was great to have a purpose, and I met a ton of people there.

@...And i'm a Snake.: I think you're imagining a far smaller, simpler system than what really exists - like a guy sitting at a computer, and a popup tells him he's been hacked, so he hits the power button... But it's really nothing close to that.

As a young kid in elementary school, I would rent games whenever I could afford it. It was great sampling all these different experiences. There were real stinkers mixed in, but even back then it was more about gaming in general than one or two main games.

@tooji: Another thing that comes up often in happiness and satisfaction studies is gratitude for overlooked things.

@rockman_x_2002: Then your shareholders would dump you because you just caused the value of your company's stock to dive based on a hunch. Then your company would be much smaller, and probably more cautious of making itself look irresponsible without just cause.

@LawnmowerMan: You can refuse to accept anything in life, but sometimes the logistics to meet your demands simply don't exist in reality.

I always thought it was less that she was adopted, and more that her parents supposedly abandoned her to be a test subject...
