Other way around. The SR-71 was purposefully built to have "gaps" between the airframe extrusions and surface skin, as at cruising speed, the exterior skin would measure over 550 °F, thus expanding into the pre-designed gaps.

As a Class X hull, she's been completely stripped of her oil-burning boilers, turbines, and turbo-generators. There's basically nothing there to provide any propulsion. Even the reduction gearing, propshafts, and propellers have been salvaged. She's just basically a big, floating steel island, right now.
