They also wanted to invite that same group to my husband’s brother’s wedding and were willing to throw down for that one too, but he and his now wife said no (which I thought was a real shame). Instead my in-laws had to throw an (expensive) engagement party to include their friends.

I agree. Though it was a little hard bc their friend group was as large as my whole family.

You sound like you know way more about this than I do, so tell me your thoughts on this: I know some places in Western Europe, Italy comes to mind, that are incentivizing people to have more children bc their populations are decreasing and the average population age is increasing, etc. What is the actual issue here?…

We invited~60 of my in-laws friends that I literally met on the day of my wedding. Sure, it would have been cheaper not to invite them. Yeah... I was about to give the benefit of the doubt... blood sugar issues, they were scared, it was new... they asked to talk to the manager and were denied. But then they said that they don’t like tipping and in an ideal world she would have been fired. Fuck them. Jesus Christ.

Ugh. I wish that you had been serving us. We had a meal a while back that took over an hour to come. We did not complain, but I was really really tired, so I think the server knew I wasn’t super happy. The manager came over, profusely apologized and comped like 80% of our meal. We tipped 30% of what our full bill…
