Opening presents at my (forced) bridal shower was one of the most awkward experiences of my life. I am really really hoping to get out of a baby shower, and hoping that by being Jewish I can. I am not too hopeful though. I would LOVE if instead we could all just drink wine.

I’m seeing a lot of comments about class and wealth and I agree with those, but I would also add POWER. Skinny women have power that overweight women don’t really have as much.
