Yup. Exactly it. The name “Amityville” can’t be trademarked. So you’re a horror director with five dollars who wants to make a haunted house flick? Just call it the Amityville Terror/Panic/Mild Anxiety and boom! Brand name recognition and association with a major horror franchise.
I’ve said for years they should make a movie about Kings Park.
