Seriously, the quality of the writing in BW is unmatched by anything else in Transformers. Code of Hero, The Agenda... man so many classic episodes and such great themes. So much substance compared to something like RiD or even Gen 1, and I’m saying that as a diehard Gen 1 fan.

It wasn’t the buzzer-beater, it was ripping the ball out of an Iowa player’s hands while also elbowing him in the chest, all after the game has clearly been lost. There’s being competitive, and then there’s being an asshole-by-surprise. Too much of the former oftentimes leads to the latter.

Evangelion actually had AMAZING directing. Hideaki Anno is a master of directing both dialogue and action, and that’s why Pacific Rim doesn’t really come close (although both series have roots in Kaiju movies).
