I like a lot of what you write. This - the idea that everyone who holds differing political views than your own should be shunned/punished, coupled with the assertion that one of the nation’s most accomplished, and beloved, jurists is “dumb” for not agreeing with you - this is not your finest hour.

Why? Or are you one of these people who can only be friends with people who hold the same political beliefs? How boring. And how insecure you must be in your beliefs that you can only tolerate the company of the like-minded.

I fear that even we liberals are missing an important point here.

I think it’s known in Chicago that Derrick isn’t a very bright dude and that he doesn’t really speak for himself and lets his handlers do most of the talking. David Haugh is a knee-jerk, self righteous asshole. He was extremely sanctimonious about Patrick Kane allegedly raping that girl in Buffalo, and stuck to his guns when the allegations were shown to be less than solid.

So he did everything ‘wrong’, but the police DIDN’T execute him? Hmmmm...maybe if more encounters were leavened with police restraint, like this one, citizens wouldn't fear lethal consequences to what should be a routine interaction. Good on these police.
