@Fossa: Heh. I don't think anyone's complaining about the easiness of finding porn.

@Deaf Mute: But the guy with a door on his office ain't gonna be getting there by accident.

No, it's a horrible idea.

@descendency: And condoms don't have any side effects. I've watched people's personalities change as they go on and off of birth-control. My wife doesn't want to go on the pill, I'm certainly not going to make her.

Did I do something wrong? My 3G performs better with OS4. Consistently and across the board, it's more responsive, especially on the home screen.

@Lord_Data: I haven't. Then again, my dreams have no narrative thread- no events at all occur in my dreams.

@mordicai: You mean sapients, not sentients. I don't believe sapient life exists.

@Hedgeworth: We are shit, though. Any hope of social change has to start with accepting the fact that humans are animated shit, like pretty much every other living thing on Earth.

@mordicai: My argument was more strongly worded that I would actually defend. I was in a rush to get out of work.

@Vulcan Has No Moon: Then how do you deliver it? Aside from some bases and acids that could cause burns, you're not going to get it dissolved into the bloodstream.

@mordicai: I'm perfectly willing to admit that I'm an absolutely horrible person.

@bookwench: Oh, yeah. That makes sense.

@bookwench: Murder requires an intention to kill. Depending on local laws, there may be "third degree murder" or, in most places "manslaughter", which is when you kill someone through negligence or recklessness.

@mordicai: Oh, certainly not. I'd hesitate to say that domestically the numbers are "overwhelming", but now we're just quibbling over statistics. I honestly don't care.

@mordicai: As I stated- rapists, or any other criminal, are defectors. They operate against the social contract because it is advantageous to do so. Obviously, it behooves us to make it actively disadvantageous, but there always remains cases where it simply can't be made disadvantageous.

@mordicai: Not trying to suggest that. But you can't deal constructively with "rape culture" until you understand why it exists- and it's a natural evolutionary outgrowth. It's a viable reproductive strategy, even though it's based on being a "defector" in an iterated prisoner's dilemma with society.

@Vulcan Has No Moon: Real poisons usually act fairly slowly, and considering you're putting it in a mucous membrane, you run a very real risk of exposing the user to the poison.

@Hedgeworth: See, I don't think of it as fucked up. I think human beings are animals, and rape is a viable reproductive strategy for a male mammal. Our social values and our biology don't always agree, and this is one of those cases.

@mordicai: Something to keep in mind, just for perspective: until the the mid-20th century, rape was less "assault" and more "property crime". In a lot of countries, it still is a property crime. The idea that women are their own person, and not the property of their father or husband is a fairly modern invention.
