Tons of love for Um Jammer Lammy. I actually just went back and played through it last month in preparation for this re-release. I still struggle to say which game had the better songs overall, but Lammy has PaRappa beat without a doubt on features and replayability with its co-op and PaRappa “alternative” stages.

Absolutely agreed. I experienced the exact same thing from a rented SX4 in San Diego. The thing took an unreal amount of repeated booting to accelerate at a halfway reasonable pace. The rest of the car was pretty solid though, and a manual transmission example I tested later (I was considering the AWD wagon version

Definitely better than Fosters (along with most of the really big U.S. domestics). I managed to find some of their Pale Ale and Sparkling Ale in the U.S. thanks to someone else flaking on a special order and found it to be pretty enjoyable. That said, I don’t think it was quite good enough to specifically order some

Agreed, though unfortunately in my case the damage had already been done by the previous owner. Nothing that couldn’t be easily fixed by some color matched plugs though.

They sure do. I never had a chance to try it in the U.S. and quickly figured out that it was probably for the best after grabbing a bottle while visiting Japan last year. It’s pretty awful, IMO.

I prefer driving barefoot, but for situations where that isn’t allowed (autocross, etc.), I have a pair of Puma Redon Moves that I purchased on a whim from a shoe store chain that happend to have them on sale. They aren’t the most comfortable things to walk around in, but they’re cheap ($40) and tick all the right

Started off from about where you did but kept up with it over the years, so here’s my 2¥:

Funny, that’s the exact same way I came across it as well. It actually wound up being a better viewpoint than the one inside the garden area you have to pay to enter (which is where my 2nd and 3rd pic came from).

That whole area is just downright gorgeous. Easily one of my favorite places in Kyoto.

Love this song and video. For a little extra fun, watch again and try to spot all three of the artists.

National Lampoon’s parody, “Deteriorata” may be more fitting here:

Can confirm. I spent a day driving through several areas featured in Stage 5 during a rental+tour from Fun2Drive. The resemblance was uncanny.

My jab at Mini is largely in amusement/jest, as I’m well aware of the market, regulatory, and BMW-as-a-parent-brand forces driving the bloat. I’m not particularly bothered by the larger models either, but can’t help but feel some disappointment when even the standard Cooper grows substantially along with the rest of

You seem to have done the work for us :-)

Odd, I’m somewhat the opposite at a skinny 6'2". I barely fit with just enough room to function in a ‘07 Miata but had a little more head and leg room to spare in a ‘05 Elise. Getting in and out of the Elise still sucked though.

Having played Artemis Starship Bridge Simulator, I’d have to agree. It does just that (albeit with no franchise ties and slightly dated graphics) and runs well on inexpensive windows or mobile hardware. Add a projector or large TV for the captain’s / overall view and it makes for a really fun experience.

Came here to say just this. I’d be a lot more interested in this remaster if I hadn’t already gone through FFXII IZJS with a healthy visual bump from cranking up PCSX2's rendering settings. In terms of features and visuals, that combo seems to cover at least 95% of what the remaster will offer.

I had the misfortune of briefly driving one of those in convertible form (read: add 300 lbs, subtract rigidity). Romping on it in a straight line was amusing for a little while, but boy did it feel downright MASSIVE when it came to doing anything else. The retro-gimmicky interior wasn’t doing it any favors either,

The Veloster Turbo is pretty high up on my disappointment list as well. The higher-trim interior makes for a reasonably nice place be, but the driving experience fell way short of what the mechanical numbers would imply. Yes, it will hustle along a bit faster than your average econobox, but you’d be hard-pressed to

Now playing

Can’t star this enough for one of my favorite Bill Hicks bits. Relevant video clip for the uninitiated (NSFW audio, obviously):
