I had the pleasure of visiting Kinkakuji last year. I had heard of it before, but was still caught off-guard by how gorgeous it was in person (especially in direct sunlight). Crowds weren’t too bad, but then again, I was there in January. It’s definitely a must-see if you’re ever in Kyoto. Same goes for Kiyomizu.
