So, now we can eat, read, put on makeup, yell at our kids, talk on the phone AND play Plants vs. Zombies while driving? Sweet!

@subsammy: Yeah, the only real difference is that you're just modulating a different pedal. Traffic sucks either way. I just like the manual transmission because it gives me something to do when crawling along.

@Arfdog: Nah... I was more upset with myself for going along with it so easily. I didn't really cement my desire for a manual until 2-3 years after buying the ZX2. By that time, I was starting to get annoyed by auto's behavior and also found myself learning the ropes of rowing my own in my younger brother's '87

I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping that I'd either break the internet or create some kind of singularity by watching Dwarf Fortress videos on YouTube today.

A Ford Escort ZX2 ... with an automatic transmission ... when there was another one for sale which had a manual, less miles, same overall condition, and a $1000 lower price tag. I even test drove the damn thing. Unfortunately, I was 17 at the time, and foolishly let my parents talk me out of it, because I'd

@VEX: I'd be interested in one. Thanks!

@AntiHeroV: Better to Ford the river and die than to take the Santa Fe trail.

@zeeboid: Hear hear. Life is short. I intend to drive ALL of my cars, thank you.

@guitarherozer0: Yeah... too many horror stores, and not just from Hollywood. I trust drivers with open-air loads and trailers about as much as I'd trust a teen driver on their cellphone. I'm up to three minor incidents myself (after having logs, a mattress, and large plastic barrels all dumped in front of me on

Last (and fortunately only) time was an uphill curving on-ramp with snow on the ground in a Miata with winter tires and a solid hour of parking lot practice under my belt.

@Quattro-luvr: Right, I'm aware of that. The cycles drive around in a normal (well, as normal as '80s CG can portray) manner once they escape. I welcome the curving and bumping around shown so far, but it kills the overall intensity of the game without those instant 90* turns. One would think after 20 years of

Welcome to ... what is it now? 5 years ago?

Is anyone else bothered by the light cycles not turning instantly at 90 degree angles?

Is that a NASCAR vehicle I see drifting at 1:23 and 2:11 (when we see the exact same clip)? O.o

@oddfish: Yeah, that's about as exciting as my parents' mid 80s Chrysler Town & Country station wagon and Ford F150 from roughly the same year.

I had a few attempts at "learning" early on in my driving career in a late 80s Accord and a '99 Escort ZX2. These failed miserably, because they were brief and my teacher really wasn't the best (sorry, dad!). At best, I could barely get one from A to B in case of emergency, but that was it.

@Tanshanomi: I'm not sure we have the absolute worst, but I have no doubt in my mind that we're certainly up near the top. Driving in California (including L.A.) when I was on vacation last summer was damn near enjoyable compared to my daily commutes.

'98 Ford Escort ZX2. Bought it used with 40k miles and sold it 6 years later at 110k. Despite being frequently overloaded with dorm room stuffs (and/or people) and getting regularly flogged around the hills of southern Missouri, it held up very well. All it needed was regular maintenance. It now lives on in the

Come on, people. The first rule of Jalop Vote Club is that you don't talk about Jalop Vote Club... or else this happens.

@Preng: Gotta agree. SFIII3S is the first one I seriously took to learning, and Q was my character of choice. I'd love to see him show up again, along with some of the other atypical characters. I can live with the speculations being correct, but I think we've already got enough of the standard martial artist types
