I think it would have to be a mix of weight and acceleration, more than raw horespower. The killer here is that a heavy car can also accelerate quickly, thus slimming the margin for error right down to 0.

The 4.0 is also just the end of a long line of improvements before it. The 4.2 before it was unkillable and the only thing on the newer 4.0 that I see fail with any regularity is the TPS.
This is thing that lots of people miss. Its like an LS engine, it will run shitty longer than most engines run well. GMT are plastics shitboxes, but they will rattle along forever.
Not only that, but individuals are society. If enough people stopped banking with banks that were very inefficient, the banks would all start to pick up their own slack. Large scale changes have, and always will be, started on the backs of induvial society members.
Detroit wouldnt be able to pay any settlement.
Also, I get the appeal of the V8 swap, but why not target the older engines people don’t want like 4cylinders or inline 6s? Seems like those powerplants are more likely to get removed anyways, so thats what you are trying to replace, no?
This is doubly dumb, since the HP rating is kind of moot. Its hard to compare an electric powertrain to an ICE. Instant torque is going to make it seem way more powerful because of improved throttle response.
Well look at you MR. KNOWS THINGS.
Also I don’t want a Lambo to do 7 minute Nuremburg laps. I want a Lambo for fricken laser beams and wings and god damn geometry. Being fast is important, but being ostentatious is key. To me, this is a step in the right direction. Bring us more absurdity in car form Lambo!
There used to be so many hijackings in the 60s-70s that people would buy tickets on certain routes in hopes of getting rerouted to vacation spots. This behavior is nothing new. The kids are alright.
I get old men telling me I modified my classic car the wrong way and I always get a really excited look on my face and tell them “Thats awesome!, You’ll be really glad to learn its not your car!” and then they usually fuck off.
My dad got me into cars with all the ones he let get away. He isnt much of a car guy these days. He appreciates my interest in them, but he hates “mechanicin” as he calls it. He had a a bitchin old Nova in high school, an early 70s Grand Prix, and an amazing Chevy stepside from the 80's.
Links arent working either. Its a ‘79 Spirit AMX. Look it up yourself lol.
Images don’t seem to be working, so here’s my Reddit Post.
Such a great show! Glad to see its coming back. I just picked up my new Radwood Project for Austin next year. Cant wait!
Simple. Chuck the boat anchor motor and put in a modern powerplant. These things are very nice inside and have a lot of features that make a vintage car nice (not features that make a car nice, mind you, nice for a vintage car).
Where these homemade fireworks? If not then why detonate them in the street? If it was some sort of IED then, sure, get rid of it without moving it, but fireworks? Take em somewhere less dense, they are generally transport safe.
I am an unabashed AMC fan, and I just got myself a ‘79 AMX.
For real. I daily a CJ and have driven a brand new Rubicon. They are not even remotely close to the same vehicle.
I just picked up a ‘79 AMX that I am hoping to bring to Austin Radwood next year
