There have been several times in the old series when they imply that Time Lord and Gallifreyan are not necessarily the same thing. In other words the Lord part of Time Lord was supposed to be taken literally and they act as an elite ruling class of the planet. It is even implied that all the things we associate with

stares blankly

Why, that's crazier than Carlos the Bewitched and his mandibular prognathism.

ALF is much better in pog form.

What, is that like Dorthy Hamill's brother or something?

Yeah! That rod totally got shafted!

I personally would have preferred "Three Gays of the Condo" Weird Al.

I loved how they made it into a running gag with Tracy too. Like when he said to Jack about how they just got back from Kwanza and they just stare down for five seconds.

"Tracy, you are going to die….when I tell you who I'm dating. Squeeky Fromme! She is…difficult"

Oh you are right, Stewart's performances in those episodes are definite highlights of his time on TNG. I just think they rely less on him alone than some other episodes. I especially wanted to direct some love to David Warner in Chain of Command who acts as a perfect foil to Stewart. Stewart's performance relies more

Code of Honor and Shades of Grey are pretty bad but I always have to deduct extra points from Sub Rosa because a) it's season one level writing in season 7 and even with spottiness of the last season there is no excuse for that and b) it is one of the last Crusher centric episodes and since she was already an under

Largely agree with this, though I would replace Genesis with Sub Rosa. I never understood why so many people hate so hard on Genesis. It's definitely not the strongest episode and you do have to get past the bad science of the introns, but otherwise I feel it is a decently put together thriller episode. A C at worst.

Yeah, themes like these in television and other pop culture are usually meant to be ciphers. It's a basic set up, one larger and/or more technologically advanced group exploits and conquers another one. In time the group gains their freedom and has to go about picking up the pieces and move forward. It could really

He's injected himself with an overdose of cordrizine.

It's hard to call some them guest stars even. I think Aron Eisenberg was in more episodes of the last couple of season than Cirroc Lofton.

It's great effects wise. The problem was that Stuart Baird, the man who directed it had little experience and had little to no familiarity with Star Trek cannon. He got the job by reediting a couple of different movies and showing it to the producers. Not exactly the best reason to hire a person.

Yeah, but once again it was allegory (reassociation was the true taboo) instead of an explicit depiction of an LGBT person. Especially at that point in time it seemed like Trek should have gotten over it already. The rumor always was that it was Rick Berman that kept shutting the idea down while he was at the helm.

This is the A.V. Club. There is NOTHING that is so bad that it can't be analyzed to death. Nathan Rabin practically built a career around it.

Oh, that is a good example. I almost forgot about that one.

"Sub Rosa" was in Season 7. The senioritis of the last season I think has a lot to do with its existence, possibly in addition to drugs and/or a sexually frustrated writer with a ghost fetish.
