Obviously a Decepticon...

I’ve noticed a general increase in “clickbait bullshit” on the gizmodo/splinter/deadspin universe over the last few weeks. It’s unfortunate. AV Club seems to be the worst of all the platforms when it comes to this. I guess Univision is pushing them to get more clicks.

Sean — and I say this with an incredible amount of respect for you as a writer (one of my favorites on the internet), a journalist, and a person — this is legitimately clickbait bullshit. The mountain of qualifiers heaped in the second half of this article practically unwrites the first and proves that point. Except

“No, no, dig up, stupid!”

Agreed. I didn’t read it as bragging, I read it as him realizing he was in a position where he didn’t have to question his behavior as much as if he wasn’t well thought of in the community.

While I get what you’re saying, I actually think those parts are important. He’s recognizing the power imbalance that allowed these situations to happen and be swept under the rug. He’s displaying a level of self awareness that Weinstein, Toback, Spacey etc. lack.

Between the asthetic differences and the royal fuck you that is Covenant’s ending, I’m forced to assume that Prometheus and Covenant exist in an entirely separate continuity from the Alien franchise.

When this all started, a buddy and I discussed which celebrity would break our hearts the most as a secret harasser. His was GDT; mine was Hammill.

Tom Waits.

Jon Stewart.

Stephen Colbert.

(I’ll be shattered if I’m wrong about any of those.)

Chris Evans.

The guy who played Tackleberry in the Police Academy movies.

Mark Hammil

Weird Al Yankovic

“You either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain.”

While I’ve often defended Prometheus as largely “fine” if you don’t think of it as an Alien movie. Covenant was, just bad. There really isn’t any way to put it. Every single character makes absolutely the worst choice they possibly could at every possible step. The pacing is bad, the coloring too dark, and a lot of it

I was ten years old when Tom Waits car broke down in Fernwood and Barth Gimble took advantage of having such a hotshot on his show. The entire interview is incredible but when Waits starts singing The Piano is Drinking, it hits the the heights that Martin Mull was seeking with the show with his & Willard’s reaction

I’d agree, though I also think they’ve done a good job of making Cap an interesting character too. He SHOULD be a bore, but I’ve enjoyed Evans in the role and the character’s almost naive commitment to a belief in pure good and evil. Feel true to a comic book character.
