Robin Williams is easily the best part of Aladdin. I rewatched the movie a few years ago with my family and we were all cracking up like crazy. Do you also hate puppies and chocolate?
And the of course we got The Corrs outta that as well.
Apparently they issued a guide book in some US cinemas to help .Which I can completely understand. But dammit! as someone who grew up in Dublin it was nice for once to see a movie that didn’t pander to international audiences ,didn’t hire a a load of English and US actors to do ‘easier to understand’ fake oiirish …
I wonder if American viewers need subtitles for that film , it features some quite heavy dialect. That’s a great version of Try a little Tenderness but I recently saw a vid of Otis singing that song , it’s really something else.
Great Director who made The Commitments, and other slightly lesser movies dies.
Love him for The Commitments. That film is one I always beg people to see if they haven’t. The music, the brilliant writing, the heart of it. Just an absolute gem. I can never forget the name Imelda Quirke.
To me that seemed to be an entirely fair article focused on Ellen’s response to allegations about the work environment at her show with enough context to inform those who are unaware of the facts of the matter. It didn’t even mention her reputed personal coldness or whatever. I certainly didn’t see any reaction like…
Exactly zero people want her imprisoned for being a shitty boss. The only person I’ve ever seen comparing her behavior to that of rapists and creeps in Hollywood (and also Jeffrey Epstein? So I guess we’re including all the monsters in the financial circuit?) is you.
We ought to stress the good in law enforcement for kids.
Eh, yeah I mean he is annoying, but I can’t imagine this movie without Eddie Furlong. When I was a kid, I thought he was kinda badass. Rode a dirt bike, smoked cigarettes, loved Guns n’ Roses. All very, very cool things to my 10 year old self.
Unfortunately, the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin died in 2018. If she was still alive, she could easily fix this by knighting Lady A. Once knighted, Lady A would become Dame A and outrank the upstart Lady As in much the same way that Sir Mix-a-Lot outranks most other Mix-a-Lots.
This is a personal favorite because the punchline sneaks up on you.

I offer simply this as my counter statement:
And you know that these are the people who in 20 years will be moaning about how nobody makes anything good anymore.

Larson’s best work:
I always think of this one when I walk through a spider’s web:
“What if there’s a guy in the control room wearing an old-school Jurassic Park tshirt?”
