@Vexorg: Log? Pfft. It contains two maps. One shows you where an iron mine is, one shows you a forest.

@Creep_jp: All that for a Ford Probe.

@Type R: I know someone who is a Polish-born Canadian. He was born in Poland, and moved to Canada at an extremely young age. So it's not accurate to say he's Polish, but he wasn't born in Canada.

@Leadhead: What is this, apart from the greatest movie ever made?

@triptheory: It is Lotus electrics, keep in mind. Probably was just a regular alarm when installed.

@zacarious: To be fair, it did spring a leak in the film.

@vsound: Or you just steadily inch your girlfriends' copies closer to the fire.

@Spasticteapot: I was using hyperbole, of course - what's the prettiest car I can think of, what's the blandest car I can think of that has more power.

@west-coaster: When it comes to old or collectible cars, logic has really nothing to do with value. I mean, a Cord 810 has less power than a Corolla, but which would you rather have?

@IFTNFS: But, difference is that a RAV4 will never be collectible, while a GNX is.

@Zordon: My house actually has them attached, but I don't use them (or, er, take them down, they came with the house) because it's a really tall house and I've noticed that some of them way up high broke last year, and it's probably a fire hazard.

Wow, lots of self righteous folk out tonight.

I drove a race prepped Camaro...

@Botswana Meat Commission FC: It's one of those things that's really not borne out in the actual winners of the award. GM has only really consistently taken home a prize with Truck of the Year, but there are very few trucks introduced every year, so if they just space their truck introductions out in the right way

@slanket: But GM doesn't win the award every year. In the past decade, they took Car of the Year twice - this year, CTS in '08 - truck of the year four times - and this is sort of winning by default anyway - and SUV of the year once - albeit for the most questionable model, the GMC Envoy.

Then, Google, start negotiating with ISPs to get rid of bandwidth caps and increase speeds in rural areas, because so long as those exist the cloud isn't going to happen for the majority of consumers.

@blyan is nominal too?: And if other laptops have light up branding, they're being just as obnoxious, and I never said they weren't. Besides which, the laptop in the picture has no logos. None, nada.

You know, the only other thing I can think of that is even close to being stripped of branding is the Nintendo DS - just a couple raised rectangles on the top outside of the required sticker info on the bottom.

@ddjeffries: Even if it isn't branded because it's not a consumer product yet, the point is that this brandless experience is a positive one. Stripping off all the logos along with giving a minimal overall design leads to something more aesthetically pleasing. It's something that has been known in other fields for

@blyan is nominal too?: I'm not being hypocritical. If you see someone using a MacBook in the wild, the first thing you see is the glowing Apple on it. If you go to a show and someone is using a MacBook for a show - it happens a lot - when the lights go down the little glowing Apple sticks out. The entire purpose of
