At least for me, Hershey’s tastes like Hershey’s - it’s what I ate as a child and even though I’m aware that it doesn’t taste like “good” chocolate, I still enjoy it for what it is. It’s like Taco Bell in that you know what you’re expecting.

Throughout my life I’ve found that the vast majority of people who can turn the waterworks on/off at will are at best less than trustworthy, at worst they use that ability to get what they want whenever possible.

The thing that’s wrong is that there is a season 4 Westworld trailer. They ran out of ideas pretty fast, tried something new and didn’t execute very well and now here we are. It’s too much of a tentpole property for HBO to give up so they’re going to coast on (and shamefully waste) the ridiculous amount of talent…

I disagree with that.  Are there pockets among the religious set?  Yes.  But gay marriage has had majority approval among Republicans for quite a while now, and the libertarian mindset is that it’s none of their business what someone else does in their bedroom.  Reflexive homophobia is aging out of the population.

Hanks’ involvement almost certainly attracted an audience who otherwise would have dismissed it as a “gay movie.” I don’t think it’s overreaching to say watching an actor you know and love play a character who is treated so fundamentally unfairly and die in such a heartbreaking way had an effect on mainstream…

Yeah it’s a robot they shoot out of a catapult.  It’s actually really cool when it works.   Disney would use humans but this is California, so they have actually employee protection laws.   If they were doing it in Florida they’d just be using Orlando teens

I’m always fascinated with Disneyland/DCA in particular because they really do think of everything.

Well, the only things really separating “Star Wars” from “Sci-Fi” is The Force (and related things like Jedi and Sith), Empire/First Order vs. Republic/freedom, specific ship designs, and specific species (wookies, ewoks, twileks). And even the second item is quite common to story telling.

I don’t want to conflate “cancel culture” with folks having a conversation about these issues. I think that’s super important.
