I actually think John Cusack is a really underrated actor. I mean, sure, he got a Golden Globe nod for High Fidelity and there was brief awards buzz after Love and Mercy came out...but he’s almost always performing at a level above the movie he's in. My favorite role of his is in Grace is Gone. Such a beautiful film!

Now playing

I found the 1972 Broadway recording on YouTube. It was definitely “pussy wagon” back then. It must have changed for the 1993 London revival as those changes were used in the 1994 Broadway revival (“dragon wagon” was used then per the soundtrack clips on iTunes).

I couldn’t find a source for the original 1972 Broadway lyrics, but Grease itself has been overhauled many times to make it less raunchy and incorporate songs and changes from the movie. I think it’s more likely that “pussy wagon” was the original lyrics but was changed during one of the revival versions.

Cool to see the original Frenchie playing Ellen Travolta’s waitress role. That is Didi Conn, right?

Know what I notice? There are zero online stories or rag picture spreads of this kid. Even photos of her are rare - and those that show up look years old - she’s nowhere near 15 in them. That is no mean feat - particularly living in NYC. Clearly, this teen is being (successfully!) guided and taught how to negotiate

I have a feeling that Duncan’s (Zowie) young life was probably tumultuous and the nanny probably played a big part in raising him. It’s really nice that David honored that.

What a class act. And thoughtful.

I’m sure Iman isn’t going to let their kid do anything foolish. She’s a super smart lady.

Well, I think it’s problematic for her to say something like that for the obvious reason that she has no idea what it means to be black. Shirley Chisholm, as a black woman, can speak of the experience of a black woman. Julie Delpy cannot. Also, the bigger issue is that she seems to think there are women, then there

Does diversity include women? Only 20% of non-acting nominations went to women and women are half of the population and over half of film school graduates.

Shirley Chisolm famously said: “Of my two handicaps, being female put many more obstacles in my path than being black.”

“I’m very sorry (1) for how I expressed myself. It was never meant to diminish the injustice done to African American artists or to any other people that struggle for equal opportunities and rights(2), on the contrary. (3) All I was trying to do is to address the issues of inequality of opportunity in the industry

Wait, are you saying there are people who are both women and of color? And they are in the moving pictures?!?

Danny Devito actually made a good statement that doesn’t sound douchy or out of touch. He acknowledged there is a problem and there are performances that are overlooked because of the race of the performer.

“We should stay alert and united and support each other to change this unfair reality and don’t let anyone sabotage our common efforts by distorting the truth.” So this isn’t really an apology. She thinks people distorted the truth, or that people didn’t get what she was saying and concentrated on the wrong thing. She

Julie Delpy has somehow gotten this far in life without ever having seen, heard of or met a black woman. Are we unicorns? Do we not exist? We’re apparently just myth.

I’m so impressed with her parents. Splendid job!
