What surprises me in these stories is how many ordinary (as in not adult movie stars or escorts) have naked pictures of themselves lying around in their email or phones.

Didn't mythbusters prove what wrong? That you can fall from a height so high into water that you'd be injured or killed? I'd love to see that episode.

So you got rid of the squirrel but broke your bird feeder? Or at least damaged it?

So basically problem solved?

Can Calibre convert Google eBooks to the Kindle format?

It's not about having money or not though I do admit that one of the advantages of having DE is the ability to drop orphaned drives in there and have it work. If you can afford terabytes of storage, then why wouldn't you choose something like a QNAP or Synology?

What happened to the promise of cheap USB powered secondary monitors that was supposed to display things like system stats or stock tickers? I want one for my desk but not something this big. Did they never take off?

Love the tutorial, very well done. I am not a stranger to linux/unix but certainly no expert. Do you think it's a huge turn off to beginners when it takes 5-10 steps just to get a disk ready? I get the granularity and the control you have with linux but watching the youtube video was eyeopening. I almost fell asleep

You do know they removed Drive Extender in WHS2011 right? They did report that. They all did. WHS 2011 is dead to me.

SSD - the answer to pretty much every question in this thread.

I stumbled across an interesting documentary (well hour long news story) on this. It was made a while ago and has a very 80's Unsolved Mysteries feel to it. Anyway, it presented a lot of questions to his guilt. I feel bad for the guy, assuming he's innocent.

Yes, Sonos.

Just picked up a refurb'd Squeezebox Radio myself. Once Spotify support was announced, I was all over it.

Wow, thanks for the feedback. I had a Photonic Disruptor which was basically one of the first green lasers on the market. I know, no big deal now but back then there weren't many companies making them. I was able to burn holes through black plastic trash bags and light matches. Fun stuff. It worried me though because

Are you serious about the Morse Code thing? I had a Wicked Lasers unit and it was just on/off. Of course this was years ago.

Depends on what song you are trying to stream. If it's Robin Hoek - Lovesong for my Lady.mp3 then you need to transfer it from your personal library. If it's Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks, it's in the Spotify catalog and will stream without "syncing" to your device.

No.

No.

No music recommendation in terms of Pandora's music genome, but that hasn't really bothered or affected me. I read so much about music and have a good social network so music discovery for me is natural, and organic. If you need some hand-holding, Pandora might be a better choice.

Yes, that's the main point and why it's better than Pandora IMO. In Pandora, you pick an artist or song you like, it starts playing, then it's a crapshoot. Here, if you want Michael Jackson's Thriller album, you can listen to it beginning to end.
