Both of those things are Maine, though.

Yeah- it just seems so petty (she was most likely breaking a law or about to break one, is fine now, charges were thrown out, and the only reason this is getting attention is the lawsuit) when there are people in other areas of the country (say, down the street a bit) that are getting killed for doing about the

I didn’t say there was a simplistic moral message about the evils of the mob- I said there was a moral/social message. I think the allure of the mob (and all forms of evil that lead to power) is clearly on display, and it investigates how and why people get involved, essentially breaking moral codes that they were

Didn’t we already go over this?

...but some will use medical leave and some won’t. I have a co-worker taking time to care for her ill father right now. Should I complain because my father is healthy?

...and parents pay for these children? We pay the difference for the premium medical plan, yeah. Do you suggest we don’t support maternity in health plans? Seriously? I can’t see how that could be wrong...

I mean, I think it *is* trying to deliver a moral/social message, but this guy didn’t understand what the message was.

Teachers don’t have more influence than parents. We get them for one year max.

No , I agree. I can just see where the OP was coming from (the increased scrutiny is real), and I was resenting the pile-on happening in the comments.

Uh, yeah. Do you have to take vacation time for sick days at your work? Good lord, this is why people need unions.

Not having to deal with screaming babies (or their poop) plus someone to pay into social security when we’re old is pretty much reason enough for us child-free people.

Now, I would NOT complain about this; I think it’s awesome.

GE just upped theirs to six weeks, flexible, so take that, State Street.

I guess by “Stupid” I meant more like “Minor.” Like, this is not something that is going to affect a large swath of people. I’m glad about the end result, but it is a smaller story.

Agreed!

Haha thanks! I agree with you, and point 1, but I hated to see the pile-on when I can totally understand the OP’s point, even if it seems a little misplaced this time.

I think this guy is saying that the mob is good? To me, it sounded like somebody didn’t “get” Goodfellas.
